Fostering Psychological Safety in Our Fibromyalgia Support Community
As we journey together with Fibromyalgia, it’s vital that our meetings and online spaces remain safe and supportive for all. We’re dedicated to creating an environment where everyone can share without fear of judgment. Our next meeting will focus on maintaining these psychologically safe spaces, emphasizing the importance of sharing without oversharing and fostering constructive critique without personal criticism.
The Role of Mental Health First Aiders
Our mental health first aiders are here to provide basic support and guide you to professional resources when needed. They play a crucial role but are not substitutes for trained counsellors or therapists.
Safeguarding Our Community
We’re developing a safeguarding policy to address serious mental health concerns, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. This policy will help us responsibly share information with healthcare agencies when someone is at risk.
Our Purpose and Changes Ahead
Fibromyalgia Friends Together is a support group, distinct from campaigning organizations like Fibromyalgia Action UK. Due to the pressure on our volunteers, we can no longer offer benefits advice but will continue providing resources and support sessions for benefit applications.
We’re here to provide mutual support, share information, and build a community. Let’s continue to thrive together in a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
